My Vacuum Is Not Picking Up?
Check belt. If it is broken or worn replace with a new one made for your
vacuum. Even if the belt is not broken, a belt that has been on your
vacuum for more than six months looses its tension because it stretches
out. Replace your vacuum belt at least once a year. Most of the time we
do not charge labor to change your belt. Feel free to bring in your
vacuum and we will do all of the hard work for you.
Check bag. If it is full or nearly full replace it with a new one. If you have
picked up fine dust such as plaster or carpet freshener, replace bag
even if it is not filled up, as fine dust plugs up the pores of the paper.
If you have a bagless vacuum replace filter often. They can't be cleaned
well.
Check hoses and dirt channels for obstructions.
What Style Belt Or Bag Do I Need?
Look inside the bag compartment and check for a style number printed
on the bag. Check on the silver label which is usually on the bottom of
the machine. It should have the model number there. Also it may
indicate the belt and or bag style.
What Is The Best Vacuum To Buy?
Everybody's needs are different. What one person likes another person
dislikes. Canister vacuums are more versatile. Uprights are generally
faster to use. Come in to one of our locations and try the various types
out. Try to stay away from some of the common name brands (usually
found in big box stores). They are not the same as they use to be. The
material they are made of will not last long. Also, most bagless vacuums
are a mess to deal with. Their filters have to be changed often and they
are more expensive than paper bags.
